History (through 2000): David’s father expected great things of his son, but he appears to have been an impatient man. Edvin Bacic sent his only son to Adrix, a quasi-legal omnigene research firm in Michigan, for study at the age of eleven. Once Adrix succeeded in activating David’s omnigene, Edvin brought the boy home and attempted to teach David to control his mysterious power. Pushing too hard, and being less than discreet in regards to the local media, Edvin’s attempts to train his son brought him to the attention of the hero, Victory. Victory, clearly seeing his own issues with his abusive father reflected in Edvin and David’s relationship, helped the two come to grips with David’s abilities and repair their fractured bond. Three years later, Victory called David and offered him the third seat in the Next Alliance.
